I'm trying to use this library to fetch bitmaps from an swf binary, but I can't seem to get around. What is the missing 'vexformat' project

tried to implement the swfreader in my project, getting "not defined 19 - PathsArePostScript"

Hello.Swf.Net great.No word in the dictionary can describe it.Thanks authors.I'm using Swf.Net with C # 2005.Can I write actionscript from swf.Net with C #?
I have a movieclip name: square and press the button: btn.
Can you give me a simple example of writing scripts for btn and square with C # + SWf.Net?
In cs3 only:
btn.onRelease = function () {
         square._x + = 20;
}
and script for the square:
onEventClip (enterFrame) {
    if (Key.isDown (Key.Left)) {
       _x + = 100;
    }
}

Please help me convert.Thank you.

Hi Pablo,

The latest version of the overall code would be in the GitHub version of the source (https://github.com/debreuil/Swf2XNA) I haven’t looked at the XAML part in a long time though, so not sure it is still working correctly for that (the SVG converter is no longer correct, but maybe XAML has been more backwards compatible http://blog.debreuil.com/?p=175).

Hi Robin,

Are you going to post update on morph tweens conversion? I tried some code but didn't produce desired results. My knowledge about swf and xaml is limited.

That should all be working, I can have a look at the swf if you like... Are you just dumping tags, or is it the swf 2 xna part? (or maybe xaml?). Also is it swf v8?

Hi vikramacholan,

I use one of the implementors of IShapeRecord for shapes, so StraightEdgeRecord, CurvedEdgeRecord, and then EndShapeRecord. You can see these used in ShapeWithStyle in the ShapeRecords member. For morph tweens I beleive that you can just use ShapeWithStyle for startEdges and endEdges, but only have stylechange records in the startEdges (other than moveTo type stylechange records).

The thing with morph is as far as converting to another format, it is already such a crap shoot as to what will happen in flash that I think you basically need the original code to duplicate the behaviour. Of course that is no excuse for me not having implemented it, as it is still useful for filtering/converting/enhancing swfs to other types of swfs : ).

We did try selling it for about a year. The story was an overwhelming lack of interest : ).

Personally I doubt xaml (or any other xml based graphic/layout format) will move beyond niche markets, but if it does I'd be happy to make more tools... Until then though my interest is mostly with swf, or working directly with graphic hardware/api's.

Hi Stanislaw,

I do plan to add docs, but probably it will be geared more towards the tools around it rather than the swf stuff. You can download the swf spec from Adobe, the tags follow that very closely. It is more to build tools with though, making a swf completely by hand would be pretty tedious : ). Also you can modify swf files, that may be an easier path in (set breakpoints in swfDump for example and then examine the SwfCompilationUnit).

One other place to look for example code would be the swf to xaml converter in there. It is an example of how you can generate content without doing things tag by tag.

It's an interesting project. Please, provide minimum documentation or/and Quick Start guides. I need explanation how to buld the swf file from zero, for example, add text, image, some effects...
